Sunshine Acres Community Service Project
Fri. February 17, 2012 at 04:43 PM
On Saturday, February 11th 2012 from 8am to 3pm our team traveled out to Sunshine Acres Children's Home in Mesa to participate in a group clean-up project. This project was organized by the AACM. Our company's Marketing Director, Nate Roberts, helped to organize the event from his participation with the AACM's Community Outreach Committee. Sunshine Acres was this year's annual project, and it was a total success! Hundreds of people showed up to clean houses, do landscaping work, paint some buildings and even install new roofs! Arizona Fire & Water Restoration, Inc. cleaned 2 different houses, the chapel, put a new roof on the storage shed and also put a new roof on a modular home. It was a day of fun with a great BBQ afterwards - and all the kids were invited. Our company is dedicated to community outreach projects and charity organizations all over Arizona. We were proud to help, and we look forward to the next event. Since 1954, Sunshine Acres has been home to more than 1600 children. Founded by Rev. Jim and Vera Dingman, this faith mission has two basic principles: We never solicit money, or a board, or a brick and No child will ever be turned away for financial reasons. Although our home is almost entirely funded by donations our focus is the quality care of the children and not fundraising. We do not solicit on our own behalf. Support is from many individuals, foundations, and corporations who reached out to say “I want to help”. Friends like Pat Hemmer, an Arizona resident, and Kurt Warner, former NFL quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals make this haven for children possible, and we are so grateful for each and every one! Most of all we are grateful for the many miracles God has done both great and small. -AzFW Team
